WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Technical Leadership & PLG Innovation

  • Drive PLG Strategy: Lead the development of scalable features focused on user onboarding, conversion, and self-service growth.
  • Lead from the Front: Act as a hands-on technical authority, providing architectural direction and high-quality code.
  • Ownership: Own technical debt and scalability, ensuring the stack meets world-class engineering standards.
  • Innovation: Inject best practices into Egnyte’s architecture to support rapid experimentation and product evolution.

Mentorship & Execution

  • Enable Success: Mentor team members through design reviews and technical guidance, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Business Alignment: Bridge the gap between code and commerce by providing business context to technical decisions.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high platform stability and optimize system productivity through automation and monitoring.

Collaboration & Culture

  • Cross-functional Impact: Partner with Product, DevOps, and SRE to align infrastructure with the PLG roadmap.
  • Culture Advocate: Strengthen Egnyte’s engineering standards and influence a high-performing work environment.
  • Hybrid Presence: Collaborate in person at least 3 days a week.
  • Reporting: Direct reporting to the Engineering Manager.

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Java — core language used for backend development and system integration within the team's technology stack.
  • Experience in backend engineering in a SaaS environment, with ownership of server-side systems including API design, feature flag management, and production deployments.      
  • Hands-on experience with database state management and data migration — writing and executing migration scripts, resolving data inconsistencies, and coordinating safe rollouts  between legacy and new system configurations.     
  • Familiarity with QA processes and test automation — including defining regression testing scope, managing QA environments, and coordinating multi-phase release rollouts (RC →   production).
